Well almost everybody who's been there knows you leave a little money in Las Vegas, but they say you can come back and visit it anytime.
Texas taxpayers left a little green there in October, as it turns out. Gov. Rick Perry's went to Vegas on Oct. 24 to attend a bachelor party dinner for his son - oh yes, and to also meet with Brian Sandoval, a Republican candidate for Nevada's governor. The cost for his security detail for the overnight trip - overtime, hotel, airfare, rental cars - was $12,321, according to documents just released by the Department of Public Safety.
We wrote about the trip in November after learning about the bachelor party aspect. Perry used political campaign contributions and some funding from the Republican Governors Association to cover his portion of the trip.
OMG KBH's team doesn't want to anywhere NEAR costing the taxpayer money on trips... http://bit.ly/90o5Mx "Hutchison's travel costs may be illegal" according to the Houston Chronicle. It's one thing for a secruty detail to follow the Governor, so according to the DMN he can never go on any personal trips. It's another when the Senator is breaking the law. Sadly, the DMN is doing their best attack job without telling the relevant facts again. They've become very good at being the attack arm of the Kay Campaign.
Every Gov in texas and across the nation has to have security (thats a sad state on the times we live in but its a fact) and TX governors had security 24/7 whether they are in their home, the capitol, or traveling. this is a cheap whack since Perry has his campagn pay for all of his travel or out of the state. unlike Hutchison who flies on the tzxpayer dime.

For the first time, Romo's team is riding high as it enters the postseason, having won its final three games to claim the NFC East title and set up a third round Saturday night with the division rival Philadelphia Eagles at Cowboys Stadium.
Romo's streak of remarkable play extends the past six games. During that span, he's completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 1,859 yards and 11 touchdowns while committing only two turnovers. He's made the transformation into a quarterback who makes ball security a priority while maintaining his playmaking ability. He's emerged as a leader the Cowboys can rally around.
"This is the best I've ever felt about him," owner/general manager Jerry Jones said moments after the regular-season finale, a few weeks after Jones mentioned Romo as the primary reason he thought the Cowboys were Super Bowl contenders.
Romo eliminated any doubt that he can live up to franchise quarterback standards in late-season pressure situations. However, quarterbacks around these parts are judged by the number of Super Bowl rings they own, thanks to Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman .
